sky hd review

After buying a Panasonic high-def television, the foremost thing on my mind was how long do I have to wait to receive sky high definition put in. I’d already experienced high def movies via my apple television and was very smitten, but I could not continue paying for rented movies. What I truly needed is sky, I wanted all the movies and I wanted football in high-def. I had read many sky hd reviews that I had to simply get it.

How did I set up sky high-definition

Well I went on-line and signed up, it took about ten mins and was fairly effortless, most of my time was spent blending up the packs, adding removing – did I really need sky arts. I opted for the sky high def box, the high definition pack and the movie pack. It was quite pricey I would now find myself paying just under sixty pounds per calendar month but would have everything I wanted in hd. It took a couple of weeks to get the whole thing installed, I live in flats and already have a shared dish, so the sky install was just some lad giving me the sky high def box, and installing it. I could have done this myself, but it was this chaps problem. It took him about 5 mins, after which he gave me a quick summing up on the features. I just wanted him to leave so I could play with my new toy.

How good is the HD picture
The high-def picture quality is in a word spectacular. The best way I can describe it? well, I wear specs the images on a normal tv is like seeing without my specs, blurred, lack of detail etc. When you see a hd picture is like wearing the specs so much more detail, clear you start to see things that you would never experience on the old picture. I found myself thinking what would the matrix look like in HD, before I knew it I was watching all my loved films again in high definition.

Other benefits of sky hd

Well the other major benefit from my point of view is the sound quality. Sky pumps out dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. So, like me, if you have a 5.1 system, I have a sony, can’t recollect the model but it cost a lot, then the sound is dramatic.
The remote record feature is also a big feature. It essentially allows you to visit the sky website, view the telly schedule, and record. So if you are at work you can surf the schedule and record at your lesiure, when you get home everything will be sitting inside your sky HD box ready to view.

Free broadband – I was a little unsure about the free broadband. I was with bt, and they had the worst service. I was lucky if I got 1mb download speed, despite many phone calls they never resolved it. When you call bt youre calls are sent to india, where despite their best efforts the staff are just reading from a script. I could never understand what they were saying and got really disappointed. So thanks to bt, I determined to choose for the sky broadband and try and save a bit of cash, I was paying bt twenty pounds for the joy of their bad service.

I got the sky hd box working first, and eventually got the free broadband a couple of weeks later, as bt were slow in making things happen their end. I was dreading trying the net as I thought it would be slower than bt. To my surprise the connection was a full 2mb, I know this is not the fastest but for me I was jumping with joy.
